One of the easiest ways that you can take care of your home in your absence is to let your trusted neighbors know that you are going to be out of town and ask them to report any cars in the driveway or any suspicious behavior.

4- Install an Alarm System
Of course, your neighbors won't always be available to watch out for your house, so a good back up plan is to install your own alarm system. You can find affordable alarm systems from companies like Vivint Louisville KY , and installing one could very well be the difference between having all of your things stolen or scaring the intruder away.

5- Consider Using CCTV Cameras

In this case, having a security camera system set up could allow you to get your things back. If you have footage of the burglar, the police will be able to track him down much easier.

Utilize a VPN Service to Set Up an Office Telecommuting Network

At some point, in any growing business, employees will need to do work from remote locations, including home, on a part-time or full-time basis. Other times, the business wants the employees to work from home or while away on vacation. The easiest way to develop a secure connection into the company’s network is to set up a VPN service for telecommuting.

VPN (Virtual Private Network)
The simplest way to offer remote access into the company’s intranet is to use a VPN (virtual private network) service. The VPN will enable the employee’s computer with instant connectivity through a secured environment from any location that has access to the Internet. The connection to the employee will be identical to the access they acquire when sitting at their desk in the office. It will provide complete access to all of the company’s internal resources including printers, applications, file shares and others.

Some virtual private network services require that the employee’s personal computer, laptop, desktop or mobile device use a client to gain access into the intranet. Still other VPN services use Secure Socket Layers (SSL) technology that provides instant access from the employee’s device without the need to install a client. Many VPN services provide setups that use both types of connectivity methods.

Virtual Private Networks Options

When companies shop around for a reputable virtual private network service, there are certain products that work well on multiple platforms and devices. Some companies offer a VPN with strict compatibility while others have a more open standard for their connections. Based on the number of employees, and the types of connections and devices that will be used, it is best to utilize the features of a VPN service company that offers extensive compatibility for PCs, Macs, and mobile device operating systems.

Implementing a VPN
A VPN service will manage the IP address of both the company’s intranet server, and connectivity issues with the remote user gaining access into company files and folders. The VPN service usually reassigns the IP address of the company’s server, the create anonymity while transmitting data across the Internet. Additionally, a VPN service will provide sufficient downstream and upstream bandwidth to support the necessities of all remote users. This will allow them to gain instant access to streaming sites, social media networks, and blogging websites.

Companies that utilize the functionality of a VPN service always maintain a secured connection to their internal intranet while providing remote access to their employees located anywhere in the world.
